Are tickets non-refundable?

All tickets are non-refundable, even in the event of inclement weather.

What does ‘Dress Code Enforced’ mean?

No street clothes, no exception. White/silver/blue attire encouraged, however, for those that still want to wear their blackest black, that is acceptable as well. In the past, the style of dress by attendees has ranged from Gothic elegant to formal to woodland creature costume. We encourage guests to look through the albums on the Vespertine Facebook page for inspiration and photos from prior years. For newcomers – many attendees over the years have been known to wear elaborate headpieces/horns/tiaras/antlers/etc. befitting the theme.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

The Kridel Grand Ballroom at the Portland Art Museum is fully accessible.

So why the word ‘Vespertine?’

VESPERTINE, adjective:

  1. of, pertaining to, or occurring in the evening: vespertine stillness.
  2. Botany: opening or expanding in the evening, as certain flowers.
  3. Zoology: appearing or flying in the early evening (owls, bats, etc)
