Alicia Cutaia is a classically trained dancer and movement artist based out of Portland, Oregon. She has toured with international dance productions and taught her skills in studios around the world. She has worked with company such ass Hubbard Street Dance, Chicago, Eisenhower Dance Detroit, BodyVox and many more. Her teaching credits include Lou Conte Dance Studio, ABT Summer and Dance Theater of Harlem summer intensives, BodyVox Dance Center In addition to her classic background in Ballet and Jazz, Alicia is a professional circus artist, wowing audiences with her unique fire ballets and gravity defying dance harness acts.
Alicia is always continuing to perfect her skills in her classic dance background of ballet, jazz, contemporary, contemporary ballet, tap, and improv dance while offering multi-dimensional instruction in dance and movement classes for aerialists, acrobats, prop manipulators, rhythmic gymnasts, and figure skaters.
She helps her students focus on their artistry and clean lines while helping students create new dynamic movements within their ability for their performances.
When she is not teaching or performing, Alicia is the creative director for ARC In Movement LLC, an innovative circus production company that creates one of kind acts and shows around the country.
ARC in Movement was formed by independent artists Alicia Cutaia and Russ Stark after years of collaboration in a variety of productions. In the summer of 2014, Cutaia and Stark formed ARC in Movement to present their innovative work, create new performances, and teach people of all skill levels. Using Cutaia and Stark’s complementary artistry and joy of movement, ARC gracefully combines the dance, fire, and circus performance worlds to create an awe-inspiring synthesis of artistic mediums.
